Home Repair Services

Our home repair services address the needs of the new homeowners created by our Homeownership Solutions programs.

About Home Repair Services

Home Repair Services is a community-based initiative designed to help low-income homeowners repair and maintain their homes to ensure safe and healthy living conditions. The program provides a range of services to help homeowners with critical repairs, accessibility modifications, and energy efficiency upgrades.

The Home Repair Services initiative provides financial assistance to eligible homeowners for repairs such as roofing, plumbing, electrical, and structural work. The program also provides grants to eligible homeowners for accessibility modifications such as wheelchair ramps, grab bars, and other modifications to ensure safe and accessible living conditions.

In addition, Home Repair Services provides education and resources to homeowners to help them maintain their homes and prevent future repairs. The program offers workshops and training on home maintenance, energy efficiency, and other topics related to homeownership.

Home Repair Services works in partnership with local contractors, building trades, and community organizations to provide high-quality, affordable repair services to homeowners. The program also provides job training and employment opportunities for individuals in the building trades to help strengthen the local economy and increase access to quality repair services for homeowners.

Home Repair Services is committed to promoting healthy and sustainable communities by helping homeowners maintain safe and affordable housing. By providing critical repair and maintenance services, the program helps to prevent displacement, promote family stability, and support the health and well-being of individuals and families in our community.

Home Repair Services Impacts

The impact of our Home Repair Services efforts includes:

  • Improved quality of life: improve the quality of life for homeowners by making necessary repairs to their homes, such as fixing leaky roofs, repairing plumbing or electrical issues, and addressing safety hazards. These repairs can help ensure that homeowners can live in safe, healthy, and comfortable homes.

  • Preservation of affordable housing: help preserve affordable housing options for low-income homeowners who might otherwise be forced to move due to unsafe or unlivable conditions in their homes. This can help prevent displacement and keep communities intact.

  • Economic benefits: provide economic benefits to homeowners and their communities by creating jobs in the construction and repair industries. This can help support local economies and provide job opportunities for people in the community.

  • Health benefits: by addressing issues in homes that can lead to health problems, such as mold, lead paint, or pest infestations. By addressing these issues, homeowners can avoid health problems and live in safer, healthier homes.

By improving the quality of life for homeowners, preserving affordable housing, providing economic benefits, and improving health outcomes, our program can help build stronger, more resilient communities where everyone has access to safe, healthy, and affordable homes.
