1.  Property Collections Manager

The United Community Housing Coalition (UCHC), a non-profit comprehensive housing assistance organization, is seeking an inquisitive, detail oriented, critical thinker with people skills to serve as Property/Collections Manager

Key Responsibilities 
  • Oversee a portfolio of residential properties and all of its collection and management efforts.
  • Actively and accurately maintain a tracking system for all delinquent properties.
  • Prepare monthly collection reports.
  • Participate in weekly meetings and provide status updates as needed on the assigned portfolio.
  • Manager will be responsible for working closely with case workers, counseling staff, attorneys, and the finance department on all property and collection efforts.
  • Refer clients as needed to counseling staff.
  • Make collection calls and follow up with all clients that have a financial obligation to the organization, send monthly delinquent notices as scheduled.
  • Complete eviction notices in a timely manner and follow up on all open and pending cases, make recommendations to in-house counsel.
  • Perform site visits on properties within the designated portfolio.
  • Develop and implement working systems to effectively and efficiently oversee the portfolio of properties.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Education: Associates Degree in Business, Finance, and Accounting or other related field or equivalent combination of education and/or business experience.
  • Work Experience: 3 years of experience in property management with vast knowledge with property management software is a plus.
  • Experience and ability to successfully perform collection efforts
  • Property Manager must have strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to work autonomously. 
  • Licenses/Certifications: State of Michigan Real Estate Sales Person License, preferred
  • Prior experience and knowledge working with Saleforce, a plus.

The organization has worked with tenants, homesteaders, homeowners, the homeless, community organizations rebuilding neighborhoods and providing affordable housing, religious, civil rights, labor and housing advocacy organization to improve, preserve and expand affordable housing opportunities for low-income Detroiters.

Because of its long history and significant expertise as a comprehensive housing services provider in Michigan, the organization is frequently asked to provide advice to other organizations in communities across Southeast Michigan.
